Breast augmentation surgery can give the breast a desired shape – it can become larger, rounder, firmer, and the most important, it must match the natural appearance of a woman.
Breast implants are of different volume and weight, can be circular or drop-shaped (“anatomical”) and are adapted to each individually – depending on a woman’s expectations, wishes, skin elasticity and other surgical capabilities. Circular implants are perfect for patients with firm, non-sagging, circular breasts who desire a simple enlargement, the fuller and more prominent upper part of the breast. Drop-shaped implants are inserted when the breasts of a woman are of a similar shape or when patients desire that the upper part of the breast was not prominent.
Firstly, the size and shape of the breasts meeting the desires are chosen with the patient. Future breast 3D simulation can also be performed during the consultation, allowing the woman better to understand the future size and shape of the breast.
How the surgery is performed?
Depending on the peculiarities of physical dimensions and preferences of a patient, a respective incision point is chosen. The incisions, while correcting the size of the breast by implants, can be performed under the breasts or under the nipple areolas. Also, depending on the shape of the implant, the implants can be inserted under the glandular breast tissue or under the pectoralis major. Usually implants are inserted under the so-called “dual plan” method – the upper part of the implant is “hidden” under the muscle, and the lower part remains under the gland. In such case, an equal uplift goes from the chest wall and the breasts look more natural.
Breast augmentation is a simple surgery and is performed in a relatively short time – the surgery takes a couple of hours and sometimes shorter. The surgery is performed with general anesthesia.
